The Rainbow and the Treasure We Keep Losing in Our Pockets

Have You Noticed That Adults Run from the Rain as If It’s Pouring Gold Straight into Their Pockets? They huddle under umbrellas, press themselves against walls, and make strange noises when a single raindrop touches their face. Meanwhile, children jump into puddles with the kind of joy you’d expect from someone who just won the lottery. They know something we’ve forgotten.

We are busy. We have plans, lists, worries, emails to send, groceries to buy, and nerves to calm. So when it rains, all we see is an inconvenient wet mess, not an opportunity to feel alive. And just like that, we miss the treasure.

Rain – The Free Cosmic Shower We Keep Refusing

Rain doesn’t come to ruin our plans. It comes to wash away our thoughts, remind us to breathe, and force us to slow down. But what do we do? We shrink away and rush home. We reject the free cosmic shower and choose stress instead.

But what if, instead of running, we stood still? What if we lifted our faces to the sky and let the rain touch us without panicking about our hair or makeup? What if we ran through the rain just because… we can? Just like we did when we were kids.

Sun + Rain = Magic… But Who Still Has Time for Magic?

The rainbow is the best proof that beautiful things happen when you least expect them. You need two seemingly opposite elements: rain and sunshine. One without the other… and nothing happens. No magic.

Just like in life. If there were only sunshine, we wouldn’t appreciate warmth. If there were only rain, we’d get exhausted. The perfect balance is somewhere in between—between laughter and tears, between the good moments and the ones that test our patience.

And right there, in that balance, the rainbow appears.

But What About the Treasure… Where’s the Treasure?!

They say there’s a treasure at the end of the rainbow. And I’ve come to believe it’s true. But it’s not a chest filled with gold and precious stones…

  • The treasure is laughing until your stomach hurts.

  • It’s that moment when you forget yourself and dance in the rain.

  • It’s the feeling of freedom when you walk barefoot through wet grass.

  • It’s the memory of the child you used to be, who was in no rush to go anywhere.

Laughter – The Most Accessible and Powerful Natural “Medicine”

Laughter isn’t just fun—it’s scientifically proven to be amazing for your brain. When we laugh, our brains release endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine—the same chemicals that make us feel happy. The more we laugh, the stronger our immune system becomes and the more stress we release. Basically, laughter is a superpower.

That explains why children are happier than us—they laugh an average of 300 times a day, while adults? If we manage a chuckle once a week, that’s an achievement. We’ve taken life too seriously and forgotten how to laugh.

Let’s Return to Ourselves

Next time it rains, step outside. No umbrella. No fear. Let yourself get soaked without trying to control anything. Feel it. Live it. Laugh.

When the sun comes out and you see the rainbow, remember that sometimes, magic isn’t far away—it’s just one rain away.

And maybe, just maybe, the treasure has always been right where you stopped to look.

💛 Happiness starts with you!
